Philip Davey was born in England, arriving in Australia in 1958. His broad practice incorporates images of urban and natural landscape, as well as figurative narrative works, often inspired by classic Australian texts. He has been artist in residence at several Victorian secondary institutions. Davey has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and Sydney, and his work is held by Artbank, Sydney; the State Library of Victoria, Melbourne and several regional collections.
